Chef Apprentice - Griffins Head +

We are recruiting for a trainee chef to work in our prestigious grill and cocktail bar. The successful applicant will be training to a high standard, working with our qualified chefs to produce a variety of dishes from our menus. Apprentice Chef - The Coach and Horses +

Hours per Week Monday to Sunday – variable shifts including evening and weekend work
Weekly Wage:      £4.50 per hour

Assisting the Chef in his daily duties.  Good all round grounding in working in a restaurant kitchen.  This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn about cookery, products, methods and techniques. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in all areas of the kitchen.

During your apprenticeship you will learn how kitchen teams work together, your main role and responsibilities will include;

  • Maintenance of a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
  • Ensure food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food
  • Building relationships within a team
  • Gaining confidence to work in a professional environment
  • Complete kitchen documents easily
  • Prepare, cook and serve basic dishes both hot and cold
  • Help set up and close sections

Front of House Apprentice - The Coach and Horses +

We currently have a full time Apprenticeship position available to complete a level 2 in hospitality, with an immediate start. The position will include some evenings and weekend work. We are looking for a smart, confident person, with excellent customer service skills  who is eager, and willing to learn all aspects of hospitality including basic kitchen and Front of House. We have very high standards so attention to detail is key, You will be an excellent time keeper, reliable and have lots of common sense.

Apprentice Chef +

Role

  • To assist the chefs in every aspect of the kitchen including cooking, cleaning, paperwork etc.
  • To attend College and gain an NVQ qualification.
  • You are expected to work around 35 hours over a four day week including weekends and evenings. However, you will also be required to work such hours as are necessary for the successful completion of your duties.

Duties

  • Assistance in the daily preparation of all ingredients and dishes
  • Making simple dishes moving up to a small section when fully trained
  • Plating up of simple dishes
  • Daily cleaning
  • Paperwork as required by the company
  • All legislation and company policies & procedures
  • Help and assist you to improve your skills via college and in house training
Apprentice Chef / Front of house - The Holden Wood Tea Rooms +

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and flexible apprentice chef to work in our busy kitchen and front of house. You must be passionate about food, reliable, hard working and be able to work well under pressure.

You will learn all the practical aspects of fresh food preparation, cooking, cleaning, ordering, stock rotation and ordering  in the kitchen.

You will also be trained to work in the front of house as a waiter/waitress, cake preparation and barista.

After one year you will have experience of all areas in the front of house and in the kitchen which will give you have an invaluable skills set. After which there may be opportunities to specialise in front of house work or professional cookery.

Previous experience or qualifications in preparing hot and cold meals and a basic food hygiene certificate would be ideal, but not essential.

The key qualities we are looking for in this role are:-

Enthusiasm for the work and willingness to learn.

The flexibility to work some weekends and bank holidays.

(You will not be required to work night time hours).

The ability to work well as part of a team and set to any tasks as needed.
