Overview

AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting is the advanced level of the AAT Accounting Qualification and covers higher accounting tasks, including financial statements for limited companies, evaluating financial performance and managing budgets.  Also there are two units which allow you to specialise in tax, credit control and cash management.

Modules and units

Units are split into the following mandatory and optional units.

Mandatory units comprise of:

  • Budgeting
  • Financial performance
  • Financial statements
  • Internal control and accounting systems.

Optional units include:

  • Business tax
  • Cash management
  • Credit control
  • Personal tax.

Please note not all optional units are offered every year.

Entry requirements

Completion of AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3.  Students can begin at Level 4 if they have a university degree in accounting.

How will I be assessed?

The units will be assessed using computer based exams.

Progression and employment

Successful completion of the Level 4 Diploma in Accounting can lead to higher qualifications, such as, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA and ACA qualifications. The Level 4 Diploma will give some exemptions from some of the exams for the above qualifications. AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting will prepare you for the following jobs:

  • Fixed Asset Accountant
