This Level 1 qualification is aimed at learners who wish to explore roles in adult social care and to develop their basic knowledge of the adult social care sector.

This course will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in subjects such as: 

  • Communication in adult social care
  • Roles and responsibilities in adult social care
  • Skills and attitudes in adult social care
  • Values and principles in adult social care.

Entry requirements

Good level of English and maths.

Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (CACHE)

Progression and employment

Prepare to Work in Adult Social Care Level 2

Working in the Healthcare Sector Level 2 or an Access to Higher Education course.
