The course is ideal for staff who have little or no previous experience with Lean and continuous improvement. The qualification is designed for those learners wishing to understand and use Business Improvement Techniques, commonly known as ‘Lean’. These techniques can be applied to a variety of sectors from manufacturing through to offices and aims to reduce waste and improve efficiency within organisations.

  • Working in business teams.

Entry requirements

Should be familiar with an organisation which is applying Lean/Continuous Improvement principles. Literacy and Numeracy at Level 1 is recommended.

How will I be assessed?

Through completion of written assignments.

Progression and employment

Upon successful completion learners may wish to continue their development via the completion of any of the following signposted qualifications/training:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship in Improving Operational Performance
  • Level 2 Certificate in Business Improvement Techniques (QCF)
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Business Improvement Techniques (QCF).
