Matthew Poole

Matthew is a successful student at Accrington and Rossendale College, taking the Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture.  Alongside this he is upgrading his literacy and numeracy qualifications. 

Matt moved to Clitheroe from Felixstowe in the summer of 2007 and joined the ‘Choices’ group at Accrington and Rossendale College. One module he took whilst on the ‘Choices’ course was Horticulture.

Having enjoyed this module, Matt applied for the NVQ Level 1 course in Horticulture, was accepted and worked extremely hard to achieve a pass in July 2009.Matthew was interviewed for the Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture and accepted on the course, which he started in September 2009. He is currently working extremely hard on this course and is a credit to the college.

Outside of college, Matt has a busy life. He lives independently in Clayton-le-Moors and has a job in Bashall Barn at Bashall Eaves on Saturday and Sunday and any other shifts he can fit in.

Matt travels to Cornwall to visit his grandfather and to Felixstowe to see his mum and sister, niece and nephew.

Matthew has several hobbies which include War Hammer 40k and heavy metal music which he enjoys with his friends in Preston. He also likes to buy new clothes with the money he has earned.
