College Welcomes Film and TV Stars for Pennine Film Festival
Accrington & Rossendale College will be hosting the star-studded Pennine Film Festival on 15 – 19 March 2010 at its Broad Oak Campus and will be welcoming the likes of TV star Margi Clarke and the director Phil Hawkins.
The event will run from Monday 15th – Friday 19th March. The schedule for the event is below and all events are free, but you will need to book a ticket. To book tickets call Kay Aspinall on 01254 354097.
Monday 15th March 2pm-3:30pm – In Conversation With Margi Clarke
The star of films such as Letter To Brezhnev and TV show Coronation Street will talk about her successful career before answering questions from the audience.
Tuesday 16th March 1pm-4pm – Screening & Q&A for Re-Evolution
Andrew Walkington will screen his film Re-Evolution which has been created by the British Youth Film Academy. He and his team will also answer questions after the preview.
Tuesday 16th March 7pm – Exclusive Preview of Phillip Pullman’s The Butterfly Tattoo Plus Q&A
Director Phil Hawkins will be screening his adaptation of Phillip Pullman’s The Butterfly Tattoo followed by a question and answer session.
Wednesday 17th March 10am -12:30pm Screening of Mancattan with Q&A with Director Colin Warhurst and actress Hazel Earle
Free screening of the movie Mancattan, based in both Manchester and Manhattan, followed by a question and answer session.
Wednesday 17th March 1pm-4pm – Diary of a Disgraced Soldier plus Question & Answer Session
Screening of the movie which tells the story of Martin Webster from the day he leaves the army and sees him struggle to come to terms with post-military life. Director Chris Lowe with be hold a Q & A after the screening.
Thursday 18th March 10am-12:20pm – Lawrence Murphy
Senior Lecturer at Salford University, Lawrence Murphy will be coming to College to share his expert knowledge on Media Technology including 3D Television, mobile and internet broadcast systems.
Thursday 18th March 7pm – Screening of the film “Splintered” and a Q&A with Director Simeon Halligan and Producer Rachel Richardson – Jones.
Screening of the Horror film “Splintered” followed by a question and answer session with the creative duo behind the project.
Friday 19th March 10am-13:00pm Pennine Film Festival Competition Screenings
