Oliver Kennedy
Oliver Kennedy enrolled at college in September 2008 and very quickly achieved his NVQ Level 2 Professional Cookery qualification before progressing to the NVQ Level 3 Professional Cookery course.
These courses take place in Traders Brasserie in The Globe Centre, a contemporary and premier eating establishment managed by the Hospitality and Catering department.
Oliver recently qualified for the North West Commis Chef of the Year competition, after being inspired when he met Marco Pierre White who recently visited college.
During the college holidays, Oliver volunteers to come into college to work alongside the Lecturers to help deliver the Junior Chefs’ Academy and work with schoolchildren who attend the Cookery schools held during half terms.
Oliver says that ‘Coming to college was the best thing I ever did, I have learnt so much. When I leave I am hoping to go and work in Canada where there are endless job opportunities open for chefs.’
