Former Students

Almost all of our departments have produced students who have gone on to carve out notable careers in their chosen profession and while some may be higher profile than others, they've all used their qualifications and experience to reach the top.
 Phill & Gary NevilleGary & Phillip Neville studied at our sports department while they were apprentices at Manchester United. Both brothers made their way into the first team and the England team.  Gary went on to win the European Cup along with the rest of his trophy haul, while Phil made the move to Everton.
 Carl Fogarty  Four-times world Superbike champion, Carl Fogarty, studied at our motor vehicle department before going on to win his many awards.The racing legend recently returned to open our motor engineering workshop to officially open the Carl Fogarty Technology Centre’, which was named in honour of his achievements.
 Julie HesmondhalghChurch-born Julie graduated from Accrington & Rossendale College’s performing arts department and spent most of her time working in the theatre before her landmark role as Hayley Patterson in Coronation Street.
 Lee IngelbyFormer graduate Lee Ingleby didn’t have to wait long before hitting the big time and one of his first acting jobs was starring alongside Drew Barrymore in the Hollywood blockbuster Ever After.From his initial success Lee has starred on the stage with Michael Gambon in Cressida, and in many more Hollywood blockbusters such as Master & Commander and Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban.
 Tim Payne

Tim Payne is a former student at Accrington & Rossendale College who has made it to the top of the catering tree.  He has previously worked as Executive Head Chef of Marco Pierre White’s Criterion Restaurant and followed him onto the smash-hit TV show Hell’s Kitchen where he starred as one of the sous chefs.

He is now currently employed as the executive head chef with Paradise By Way Of Kensal Green.

 Billy ReidAfter successful stints at restaurants, such as The Belvedere, where he gathered Michelin stars, former graduate Billy Reid took over one of the most anticipated catering jobs in the industry when he was handed the reins at the multi-million pound restaurant St Pancras Grand.
 Dominic BruntWhen Dominic came to College he was a qualified welder who held ambitions of becoming an actor. After graduating he landed roles in The Bill and Dalziel & Pascoe before winning the part of Paddy Kirk in Emmerdale.
 Rikki GrayPlasterer Rikki Gray followed up his first place finish at the Lancashire Skill Build championships by winning the national gold medal in Luton to claim his place as the ‘Best Plasterer in the UK.  His achievement was made all the better in that his boss, Wesley Slattery had won the National Skillbuild award in plastering a few years earlier.
 Karen HoodOne of the high flyers to graduate from our hair and beauty department is Karen Hood whose achievements have seen her collect the Vidal Sassoon Hairdresser of the Year award, The Northampton Hairdresser of the Year Award as well as joining Brown’s award-winning artistic team.
