Studying Level 3 Business will provide you with the acumen and technical expertise to help you take these opportunities and succeed within the ever-changing and dynamic world of business.
The course will give you the opportunity to network with a range of employers and you will have regular contact with guest speakers and local business leaders. Work experience forms a key part of the course and tutors will work closely with you to ensure you get the most practical and valuable experience possible,linked to your career aspirations.
What will I learn?
You will focus on studying modules embedded in the demands of the modern business environment such as Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, International Business, Business Law and Event Management.
Each of the 13 unique modules studied will enable you to attain specific knowledge related to individual topics studied, as well as providing opportunities to enhance your vocational development and skillset.
The course has strong academic elements to enhance work-based knowledge, such as several external examinations, but is firmly embedded in vocational skill enhancement. You will conduct a variety of activities to aid your personal development including presentations, employer-based projects and professional report writing.
How will the course be assessed?
Assessments will take the form of assignments including: presentations, reports, discussions and roleplays. The type and content of these assignments will vary depending on the particular units that are being assessed. They are graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. For every assignment you will receive an assignment brief which will clearly outline what you have to do for the assessment and how you can achieve your grades.
On the BTEC Extended Diploma your final qualification will show three grades e.g. D*D*D*, DMM, MMP. The three grades reflect the fact that your BTEC Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels. Progression onto HE requires a minimum MMM grade profile.
