Overview

The games development course offers a vocational learning approach to an interesting and ever-expanding industry. The professional facilities within the media and computing departments ensure that you not only gain the knowledge of the subject but you are able to put new ideas and skills into practice.

On the games development course you will explore a wide variety of knowledge and skills, such as gaining a better understanding of the industry, creating art and develop a practical understanding of creative game design.

Entry requirements

You will require four GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including English and maths), plus a successful interview.

Applicants who have not achieved at least a grade C/4 in English and maths will continue to study these subjects alongside their chosen college course.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through coursework and practical projects.

Progression and employment

Completion of the Level 2 Diploma with a minimum merit and successful grades on English and maths means you will be able to apply to the Level 3 Extended Diploma Creative Media Production programme.

How much will the course cost me?

This course is free of charge for 16 – 18 year olds. There may be an additional cost for trips and equipment but this will be disclosed prior to starting your course.
