Overview

This is a one year full-time course giving boys and girls aged 16-19 the opportunity to gain a vocational qualification whilst developing their football skills. You will be assigned an individualised timetable that will include the appropriate course of choice with at least six hours a week of coaching from UEFA A and B coaches as well as personalised training and nutrition programmes being available.

There will also be an opportunity to play in the Elite British Colleges League and trial for regional and national squads.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades 3 or above and a college interview and football trial.

Applicants who have not achieved at least a grade C/4 in English and maths will continue to study these subjects alongside their chosen college course.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed in a varied and creative manner. Throughout the year you will develop your report writing, presentation and practical skills through a range of tasks and assessments.

Progression and employment

With successful completion of this course you may want to continue onto the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport which is the equivalent to three A Levels. Alternatively, it provides a good foundation for working life in coaching, fitness centres, local community and outdoor centres.

How much will the course cost me?

This course is free of charge for 16 – 18 year olds. There may be an additional cost for trips and equipment but this will be disclosed prior to starting your course.

Additional and key information

The course will include pre-season training and an opportunity to play teams from outside the UK via a warm weather training camp or tournament tour. You will also receive a full Nike training kit (contribution required) and regularly use our brand new PlayerTek GPS system.
