This is an Award course in Multi-trades. Learners will undergo training and assessments in three of the following trades:

  • Brickwork
  • Carpentry and Joinery
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Plastering

It is open to anyone with a keen interest in improving their practical skills and provides the opportunity to obtain a basic qualification. It is suitable for people who wish to gain the basic tool skills or for DIY enthusiasts to improve their skills in order to undertake projects around the home.

The course is taught on an evening, part-time basis, for three and a half hours every week for 8 weeks. Please enquire about the availability of this course, but start dates are usually September, January and April.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements needed to enrol on this course. However, a reasonable standard of education in English and maths is required.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by means of practical coursework assessments and job knowledge questions.

Progression and employment

On completion of this course, learners can progress to further studies depending on ability.
