Overview

This is a course in basic plastering. The course is flexible for students who are DIY enthusiasts, who wish to undertake projects around the home improving their practical skills and provides the opportunity to obtain a basic qualification. It is also popular with other trades who require basic plastering such as, patching, repair after fitting windows, doors, wiring or pipework.

 

The course is taught on an evening, part-time basis, for three and a half hours every week for nine weeks.  Alternately the course can be offered during the day from 10:00-15:30 for 6 weeks.  Please note that demand for the course is extremely high and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis; there are three intakes (one in September, one in January and one in April) Enrolment can be done at any time prior to the commencement of the course.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements needed to enrol on this course. However, a reasonable standard of education in English and maths is required.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by means of practical coursework assessments and job knowledge questions.

Progression and employment

The course provides an excellent preparation and training for working in the construction industry with its emphasis on the development of skills. Successful completion of this course could lead to further studies on the Level 1 or Level 2 Plastering Diploma.

How much will the course cost me?
