If you are seeking to enhance your knowledge and understanding of Auto Electrics and looking to progress your career in the automotive industry, then this level 3 Auto Electrical and Mobile principles Diploma course may just bewhat you are looking for.

You will complete a set of different units over the duration of the course, to develop and further enhance your knowledge and understanding of electrical principles within the industry. It will give you direct hands on experience of diagnosing and rectifying a range of electrical Automotive faults. You will gain in depth knowledge of diagnostic procedures and processes in order to competently rectify transmission, chassis and auxiliary electrical faults. The course forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) for the IMI SSC Electrical and Mobile Electrical

Installation Advanced Apprenticeship framework and covers National Occupational Standards for the Industry. You will be awarded a vocational Related Qualification from the Institute of the Motor Industry. These credits can be used towards the corresponding VCQ

This course is for 16-18 year olds and 19+ who are passionate about a career in the auto-electrical industry. Your time will be split between the workshops and classroom study.

Entry requirements

You will need to have gained a Level 2 qualification in the motor vehicle sector. Maths and English GCSEs in the C/4range or above and have a positive attitude to learning in order to complete the course.  The course will also require a focus of self directed learning at home via the Colleges learning platform in order to complete assignments and any additional resources the Tutor sees that will enhance the learners experience to learn more

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by the IMI set practical assessments, on-line multiple-choice testing and the awarding bodies set assignments to be completed at the end of each unit.

Progression and employment

When you have completed the Level 3 Diploma in Auto Electrical and Mobile Principles, you will have built up the knowledge and understanding to seek full time employment as a vehicle electrical technician or other related careers in the automotive industry, with many of our learners taking up rewarding positions as diagnostic technicians in the evolving world of the Automotive Industry.

This Level 3 qualification is equivalent to an A level and carries UCAS points, so you will also have the chance to advance further onto higher education, applying for the courses like HNC and HND in Engineering and Automotive Engineering

How much will the course cost me?

This course is free of charge for 16 – 18 year olds. There may be an additional cost for trips and equipment but this will be disclosed prior to starting your course.
