Course Overview
The aim of this course is to give students a flavour of the language, lifestyle and food of Germany, when celebrating Christmas. Students will hear the language and be able to say a few words and phrases, linked to Christmas and New Year, giving them an introduction to language classes with Lancashire Adult Learning. They will also have the opportunity to learn a little about the way the Germans celebrate the festive season and traditional food at the end of the session.
What will I learn?
Students will hear the language and be able to say a few words and phrases. They will be able to join in discussion and learn a little about the culture and lifestyle, particularly the food. There will also be a chance to try some German food.
How will the course be assessed?
There will be some on-going informal assessment and your teacher will provide you with supportive feedback.

What equipment will I need?
Writing materials and paper for taking notes.
What can I expect to learn from this course?
Greet people and introduce yourself and learn some vocabulary linked to Christmas. Learn about some regional specialities at Christmas and compare and contrast eating habits in your chosen country with your own. You will have a sample of learning a language with Lancashire Adult Learning followed by a sample of German food.
