Course Overview

This course provides a valuable management tool for those moving into junior and middle management procurement roles or those supervising the procurement function. It focuses on organisational procedures and processes including negotiation, planning, risk management and data analysis.

What will I learn?

Units include:

CIPS Unit D1 – Contexts of Procurement and Supply
CIPS Unit D2 – Business Needs in Procurement and Supply
CIPS Unit D3 – Sourcing in Procurement and Supply
CIPS Unit D4 – Negotiating and Contracting in Procurement and Supply
CIPS Unit D5 – Managing Contracts and Relationships in Procurement and Supply

How will the course be assessed?

Assessment is via 5 x 3 hour exams and the required pass mark is 50%. Successful exams results are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction.

All CIPS Level 4 exams are scheduled in January, March, May, July and November every year. The cost per exam at this level is currently £105 per unit (subject to change by CIPS at any time).
