Course Overview

Interested in pursuing a T Level but feel you need a bit more time to prepare? The level 2 in construction & the Built Environment is the ideal course to help you build the skills and knowledge necessary for your next step. This one-year programme is designed to get you ready for a T Level, offering you a comprehensive preparation package. You’ll develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and study habits needed to thrive, along with tailored support and industry-relevant work experience.

What will I learn?

On the Construction & the Built Environment Course, you will learn:
• Industry-Relevant Knowledge and Skills
Study technical content designed specifically to prepare you for your chosen T Level subject. Developed in collaboration with employers, this course equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the industry.
You’ll also complete a small project in your chosen area, such as finding solutions to real-world industry problems.
• Workplace Knowledge and Skills
Gain a deeper understanding of the key knowledge and behaviours required to excel in the workplace, with a focus on skills employers value most, including communication and teamwork.
You’ll put your learning into action through high-quality work experience, meeting employers and experiencing real workplace environments, preparing you for your T Level industry placement.
• Positive Attitude and Behaviours
Take ownership of your personal and academic development. You’ll receive support to set goals and plan how to achieve them, with regular feedback to help you stay on track.
The course also focuses on developing practical strategies to boost your confidence and resilience. You’ll have opportunities to get involved in enrichment activities, such as volunteering or participating in a social action project.
• Skills for Successful Study
Learn effective study techniques to help you plan your learning and manage your time efficiently.
Gain confidence with opportunities to practice different types of assessments you’ll encounter during your T Level, from practical tasks to projects.
• English, Maths, and Digital Skills
Develop the essential English, maths, and digital skills needed in your chosen industry.
If you haven’t already achieved a grade 4 in GCSE English or maths, you’ll continue working towards this qualification throughout the course.
