We are aware that a limited data breach occurred on the morning of 27th January 2023, relating to students at our Accrington and Rossendale campus. We were made aware of the breach immediately upon its occurrence and have implemented an emergency response.
Actions we have taken so far include:
• Recalling the email
• Asking all recipients to delete the email
• Working to ensure that all parties concerned are contacted and advised, and handling all enquiries
• Establishing support contacts for anyone with concerns
• Beginning an investigation into how this incident occurred
The scope of the breach includes a number of student personal contact details and nominated emergency contact details, but please note that no sensitive personal data is involved.
We ask all recipients not to share the information received, through any platform, so as to not inadvertently commit a data breach themselves.
Please be assured that we are working to rectify the situation alongside taking action to ensure this does not happen again.
